Be More Bond.

With Tom Ford being announced as the outfitter to James Bond for the third consecutive time we thought we’d drop you some tips on how to be more Bond, without breaking the bank.

‘Bond epitomizes the Tom Ford man in his elegance, style and love of luxury. It is an honour to move forward with this iconic character,” says Mr Ford. Well Tom,  dropping $3,000 dollars on set of cuff links is all well and good, but some of us live in the real world.

Keep it simple.

You won’t see James in any flamboyant outfits, he keeps it simple and elegant. Crisp white shirts with understated suits is the way to go.  We recommend Mr Suit Supply for great suit won’t cost an arm and a leg. Website: http://eu.suitsupply.com/en_GB/home

Mix and Match well.

Accessorise but don’t overstate yourself. Mr Bond exudes elegance without going OTT. Here he matches an simple white shirt with a gun strap and Omega wristwatch. Maybe leave the gun strap at home and go for braces though chaps. Our top seller ‘Hayden’ should do the trick on the shirt front: http://milton-green.com/shop/non-iron/hayden/

One iconic piece makes the difference.

One piece can bring an entire outfit together. If there’s one item that every man needs it’s a wrist watch. Omega are brilliantly made, timeless and it’s 007’s ticker of choice. If you’re going to splash out, do it well. Omega’s website: http://www.omegawatches.com/

Bring LCM to an office near you. Part II

Following on from the first part of our LCM review, we thought we’d keep the ball rolling with possibly our favourite show from the three day extravaganza, with the iconic British brand Dunhill who have truly become the masters of Simple suiting.

Their SS16 collections not only showed us they have a very strong blueprint for what suiting is, but have also refined it with a sense of gentlemanly sleek expertise. Sticking to the ever classic black, white and navy double breasted blazers, they expressed an elegant classiness upon white and pale blue shirting. Their ensembles also showed their versatility, suiting was matched with tees, button down crisp shirts and unbuttoned lose fit shirts.

Highlighting the importance of keeping things simple we’ve gone with the effortlessly classic pale blue Ronnie shirt and the subtle dogtooth check Edward for that refined simplistic look team under a navy blue suit and finish off with one of our vibrant English made pocket squares to add a splash of colour form the summer months ahead.

Bring #LCM16 to an office near you…..

..and just like that, London Collections Men – the biannual fashion spectacular is over for another year. We thought we’d take a look back over the weekend’s events and give you a gentleman’s briefing on our favourite shows and trends that make London the capital of everything menswear.

We’ve designed a three part LCM guide that will provide all you’ll need to achieve SS16 trends and styles this summer. Why wait!?

So sit back, relax and enjoy a trend lead Milton Green special.

Richard James:

Let’s start with the king of Saville Row, Richard James. His LCM SS16 collection manifested a real explosion of colour. Mint greens, blood reds and transcending sky blues added a real splash of colour to the spring palette, giving both a fresh and energising feel. The suit and matching shirt combinations fitted perfectly upon models and showcased Richard James vibrant craftsmanship. On the other side of the spectrum the collection focused on Saville row classics such as double breasted blazers and casual suede bombers that proved James is a true master of his trade.

The collection had something for everyone, be it a splash of colour or a more refined suit staple, all that can be said is Richard James certainly knows his cloth. With Floral’s present throughout, why not add a zest of colour to your suiting this very summer with our British made floral ties.  We’ve selected two favourites from our current collection (pictured below). Who’d have thought revitalising a shirt and suit combo could be so easy!

The Milton Green Fathers Day Gift Guide

Milton Green

With June 21st fast approaching, we thought we’d give you a stylish hand in showing your old man just how special he is. Get the date in the diary and put a smile back on his face with the perfect Father’s day gift guide from Milton Green.

Let’s start as we mean to go on. Our British made ties are handcrafted in Peterborough from 100% silk. With a price point of £30, this is a piece that isn’t going to break the bank and with a variety of patterns and designs, you can’t go wrong. For a more reserved and refined look we’d go with the neat navy and white tie, a truly perfect match under a white or pale blue shirt.

If you fancy something a little more fruity, we recommend our paisley and green pocket square. This unique piece is hand crafted and you won’t find this on the high street. A unique gift if we don’t say so ourselves.

They say a man can never have enough shirts but if you’re going to get him one for Father’s Day, make it a Milton Green. We recommend our friend, Lucas. It’s an ambidextrous piece to say the least and at £25, you can’t go wrong. In or out the office this one’s a real winner.

Chaps. Let’s face it, every Tom, Dick and Harry will be getting there dad a DVD for Father’s day. Do the right thing and treat your old man to a Milton Green. Oh, and it’s 15% off your total basket with the code ‘Fathers15′.

Here’s to you Don….

It’s the end of an era and what a fashionable one at that. With Don Draper disappearing from our screens for good, we thought what better way to celebrate than to pay tribute to the best dressed bloke to grace our boxes over the last seven years.

We have picked out his best ensembles and given them a Milton Green twist so you can bring a bit of Don to an office near you. As he once famously said, “When a man walks into a room, he brings his whole life with him”. So we salute you Don and let’s make it a bloody good entrance …

Starting the list with the Draper staple, The classic white shirt. At Milton Green we offer a variety of options but for that extra edge we recommend non-iron favourites Hayden or Upton.

There’s something about Don Draper in a simple black silk tie that makes any ensemble seem impeccable.  Hugely understated we think it’s time for a comeback.  Milton Green offer both wide and slim options for you to bring a slick edge to your formal wardrobe.

ddddSlim Tie Black

Yes yes we know its not Don wearing the navy polka dot tie but you have to admit Mr Sterling looks rather strapping. Our Polka Dot Ties are all hand made in a lovley little spot called Peterbourgh. Grabs yours from the Link below:

Thanks for the ride, Don.

A Folding Hand…..

With the latest launch of our British Made pocket squares, we at Milton Green thought what better way to help you out then show you the many, many ways to fold a pocket square. Don’t be overcome by the endless way’s in which to fold, we’re on hand to help.

The choice of Pocket Square not only reflects the style but the personality of the wearer. The simplest and most common choice is the Flat fold. This humble fold is exactly what it says on the tin, a square fold with only a ¼ visible. Whilst simplistic, the finer details add a certain elgance to a suit and tie ensemble.

Flat fold 1

The puff or casual fold is for a less formal look but still one that will add a dash of character to any outfit. This fold is best suited for pattern pocket squares such as our own paisley prints that pepper a suit with a touch of colour. Ideal for the summer months ahead.

Casual Fold

For even more of a presence there is the signature crown fold, also known as “three tips ups”. This signature fold works well in a more casual environment so team with a casual blazer for a truly dapper look.

Remember gents, the right choice is up to you always keep in mind, an accessory should add to an outfit but not become the focal point. That should always be you.
